Lunchtime

Abstract

“Pleased to meet you, pleased to have you on my plate. Your meat is sweet to me, your destiny, your fate. You’re my life support, your life is my sport.” Grace Jones
In LUNCHTIME, Teresa Vittucci deals with the bitter aftertaste of satiety at the expense of others. Oscillating between stand-up comedy and performance, she explores lust, frustration, repulsion, appetite, craving and consumption and strives to tear down all boundaries between the stage and the audience. Who eats whom? And from whose hand? Cannibals assume the power of those they eat, through Communion Catholics take in the Body of Christ, lovers swallow skin particles, pheromones and drops of saliva of their significant other. The consumer society sucks on the feet of capitalism and feasts on the excess of a neoliberal “lustscape”. Kind of gross, isn’t it?
