TWINS … made in China
Abstract
„TWINS … made in China“ is either an installation including one Video, five Heart-Balloons and seven Photographs
or a performance you can enjoy in a stage setting.
As Twins Anna Hayes and Andrea Salzmann jumped over the Great Wall, they spat at each other, threw balls,
blew soap bubbles and they slowly built an intense friendship. These friends found themselves in a human-unfriendly
surrounding in which the market and especially the art market is moving towards a more and more dangerous point.
There are a few who have a lot of wealth and live a truly epicurean lifestyle but there money only floats in direction of
Acrylic painting, so the only survival strategy for the Twins is to eat or be eaten up. The Twins are moving in between the times of yesterday and tomorrow and it is rather uncertain if they provoke Utopia or Dystopia. But what is for certain is that they are trying to change present conditions and this they are doing with the sound support of the music by Sebastian Meyer.
The Performance is collaboration between the performance artist Andrea Salzmann (AT), the painter Anna Hayes (UK) and the two musicians Sebastian Meyer (AT) and Wolfram Leitner (AT).
A first version of TWINS … made in China was shown on the 13th of december 2014 at im_flieger in the frame of INIVTES - Thank you!
